■ •« LONG-DISTANCE RACE. The Te Ruru Yacht Club held its longdistance race on Saturday., The race commenced about 3.30 .p.m., the course being from the Clyde Quay wharf to Jermugham, thence to Ngahauranga buoy, passing it on the starboard hana, thence to the flashlight buoy off Seatoun, which had to be passed on the starboard, then back outside Jerningham to the wharf. , Ten teats faced- the starter. The Muratai took the lead, which she held till an Occident happened to her. gaff, which _ enabled Whie Wings and Sea Bird to drop into first and second places. , The wind changed to the southeast, giving the two leading boats a big advantage, as the finishing times will show:—White Wings, handicap; 14min., finishing time, 6.22 p.m.; Seabtrd, handicap, Smin., finishing time, 6.29 p.m.; Muratai, handicap 6min. finishing time, 7.21 p.m.; Rawine, handicap lOmin., finishing tune, 7.25 p.m.; Lizzie, handicap 12sec., finishing time, 7.47 p.m. Amai, 20min.; Nomad, lOmin.; Trixie, lOmin.; Viking, scr.; Isoa, 30min., did not finish. Muratai and Rawene tie for third place.
