• The Makara County Council-held its monthly, meeting yesterday. There were present; Councillors A. J. Taylor (presiding), Haggerty, Monaghan, Pyle, Bryant, and' Monk. . . It was, decided to grant pennission t othe Colonial Motor Company to erect signposts at dangerous corners on the roads of the county, subject to the approval of the councillors of each ridrng, the posts to be erected free of cost to the council. _ An application by W. S. Thompson for a slaughterhouse license was granted. It was decided to have a report drawn up for next meeting, on noxious woeds at Horokiwi.
