The Labour Council has requested unionists to patronise only places of amusement recognising union conditions, owing to the theatrical- union's protest that a certain firm was threatening to extend tho principle of employing nonunionists. ' Tho employer claimed that he smashed the union in New Zealand, and could do the same in Australia. STORM IN A TEACUP . -J «£. RAISED BY MEDICAL MEN. , Sydney, February 12. The Hon. F. Flowers refers to the medical- profession's resentment of the proposed venereal disease clinic as a storm in a teacup, aiid says it arises, from a. misunderstanding of his intentions. The outbreak was located in the telephone tunnel, and was apparently due to a leak of outside electrical current into the telephone system. About , a thousand lines are damaged..
