DESTITUTE SERVIANS
RELIEF URGENTLY NEEDED
London, February 11. According to the American committee organised to secure relief for destitute Servians, eight hundred thousand will starve unless ,they. obtain grain, for the spring sowing. Fifty per cent, of the children are dying from exposure and lack of nourishment and medicine. Farms have been devastated, buildings and implements destroyed, and stock killed. Air the able-bodied men are at the front. The women and children have to plant and cultivate the crops for the spring. HELP FROM AUSTRALIA. A GOVERNMENT DONATION. (Rec. February 12, 8.10 p.m.) Sydney, February 12. In the Assembly, Mr. Holman, Premier. announoed that inquiries confirmed the existence of distress in Scrvia, and he proposed opening a relief fund with a Government donation. . THE FUND STARTED. GOVERNMENT GIVES £1000. (Rec. February 13, 1.25, a.m.) Sydney, February 12. Mr. Holman has started the Servian Relief Fund, the Government contributing £1000. ,
