WILHEMINA'S OARGO

SEIZED BY BRITISH GOVERN- ' MENT London, February 11. The Government has seized the Wilhelmina's cargo.■. The Wilhelmina, an American-owned vessel, left New York with food supplies for civilian population, her port of destination being Hamburg. The British Government intimated to Washington as soon as the vessel sailed that she would be seized and cargo confiscated. The German 1 Government having seized all stocks of wheat and flour in Germany, for redistribution on a population basis, the Wilhelmina's cargo was thereby converted into contraband, for the civilian consignees in Hamburg could not claim the food supplies under ilia German Government regulations. The Wilhelmina was not captured at sea, but put- into Falmouth through stress of 'weather.
