Tho B.SX Company is a great be» Hover in gaining first-hand information concerning the road conditions in the countries where B.S.A. motor-crclos ara used, and Mr. D. Y. Bennic, tho firm's travelling representative, was recently sent to New Zealand to spy out the land. Messrs. Adams, Ltd-, planued a trip for Mr. Ronnie wluch would demonstrate the difficulties that beset the New Zealand motor cyclist in quito a striking manner. With Mr. G. B. Brown, Mr. Eennio took a B.S.A. -Hh.p. single-cylinder motorcycle three-spood countershaft Rear (of course) and side-cnr from Christchnrch through Arthur's Pass to Otirn, Kumiira, Murchison, Nelson, Blenheim, Glenhope, Scddon, Kaikoure, Wainu, and Hanmer! SOO miles, all overland. Tlie trip was a tough one, but tho B.S.A. and side-car (weighing SOOlb. with passengers), came through magnificently. Tho capabilities of tho 3-speed gear were fully demonstrated, aud so pleased were Messrs Adams, Ltd., with tho result of this polling "try-out" that they cabled trebling their standing orders fai> f U.S.A. motor-cycles.
