Eugene Tavericer has some interesting things to say about the splendid : part which . the French clergy have played in the warHe states that "for .twenty-five years the ministers of religion have, like other citizens, been compelled to become soldiers. In the midst of soldiers and a soldier himself, 1 the priest, whom ■ the free-thinker pretends to treat as an inferior citizen, has suddenly proved a living manifestation* of the spirit . of discipline and sacrifice." Dr. Symonds, of Montreal, writes on "War and the Need of a Higher Nationalism," and Dr. Adolf Deissman on "International and Interdenomination Research of the New Testament." A number of other interesting papers are contributed • by Dr. Shatter Matthews, Professor Pace, Professor Kay, Dr. E. T. Devine, Bishop Lawrenoe, Professor .. Obbink, and Bishop Guerry.
