THE ORDER OF THE STAR IN THE EAST

On Sunday, January 31, a well-at-tended meeting of the Order of the Star in the Ea6t was held in the Esperanto Hall, Lambton Quay. Miss C. \Y. Christie gave an interesting lecture on "The Promise of tho Coming Day." The lecturer said that the- past year had been a very wonderful one, and we had been told that 1915 would be a still more wonderful oue. For the Order of the Star it would be an eventful time, for during its progress a "gathering of the clans" would take place, not as in the old time when a Divine Teacher came to earth, and all those who worked for Bis coming and prepared the way, were gathered in one land; this time the expectation is world-wide, and members of this Order are found in every country in the world; Nationality counts for nothing: it is thq belief that stands for the only plank in this Order. In proof of this the lecturer said that in one heap of men dead on tho battlefield lately, three nations were ■represented, and on the breasts of five, pinned to .their shirts, were found five iof tho little five-pointed silver stars ' which is the badge of this Order. _The | Order hopes shortly to be housed m a room of its own, and the public are cordially invited to attend the public meetings, and judgo for themselves or j the truth of its teachings.
