There were 365 appjcaute. ■ The choicest allotment —440 acres—on tie Manga wharo River, on the RaetihirParapara Road, was allotted to Edward Basry, of Ohakune. There were 135 applicants. . The results of the . other"ballots were:' 77. acres between Waiouru and Kina ion the South Main Coach Road—V. b! I Yeomanp, of Marton. Sis applicants. Adjoining section of 100 acres—J. A. Reid, Ohakune. Ninety-five applicants'. 91 acres, five miles from Ohakune • ' G. W. Ednouse. Ohakune. One hundred and forty-five applicants. 1576 acres, Whermaki—T. J. Bowler, Raetihii. Tyo applicants. 745 acres, 24 miles inland of Raetihi, South Waimarino Block A —D. Wright, Ohakune. Twelve applicants. A few years ago the above land had a , very inferior reputation.
