The above fixture was held yesterday on the Tauherinikau Racecourse. Tbera. was a large attendance and the meeting, was generally' successful. Time 9mm. 22 4-sseo.; m.p.h., 69. This was a epecially interesting race. Coleman led from the start, and continued to improve his position, winning-by three parts of a lap. Hinds, who was the last to leave, overhauled Richmond in the eighth lap,, and had two chains ill hand at tlie finish. Wairarapa Handicap, 5 laps (oit miles), for Wairarapa riders °wy.—F. Brough gradually forged to the front,'and; in. the last round led with a, gooa margin. Blundell was a considerable distance'ahead of the third man. Brough, and Griffin.. A great race between Ander- > son and Jones, the former leading until the fourth round, when lie was overtaken at the bend. A close finish resulted. The" winner was_in front! throughout the journey.' Anderson, the scratch man, rode a good race, having to concede about half a mile to the limit man. . ' '
