On inquiry at tho local office of the Union Company,yesterday a reporter was informed that the chartered steamer Homelen is duo at Auckland from Vancouver on February 20. She has 4400 tons of cargo to put out here, consisting mostly of wheat and flour. MESS-TABLE GOSBIF. Mr. E. Bohm, second officer of the Terawhiti, has signed off that vessel's articles, and Mr. E.Burtou has joined in hie stead. Dne at Wellington from Lyttelton next Sunday the C. and D. liner Makarini will fill up here and sail for London on Monday, February 15. An arrival at Wellington from Napier this morning will be .the Shaw-Savill liner Athenic. She will take her departure for London on February 16. The Moorila-nd Steamship Oo.'s cargo carrier Lauderdale has completed overhaul and survey at Wellington, and is proceeding to Westport for bunker coal. She is to go thence to Edithburg to load, salt and gypsum for New Zealand ports. Laden with jorrah tho Union Company's steamer Waitomo cleared Bunbnry for Lyttelton and Wellington on February 5. After visiting this port on February 26 the Waitomo will go on to Auckland. Falmouth has reported that the 0. and D. liner Star of New Zealand, which left Wellington for London on December 23, passed there on Saturday last. Bonnd for Wellington, via. - Aa6traliati ports and Auckland, the Star of Scotland is reported to have left London on Saturday, February 6, She is due at Wellington about April 10. From Dunedin, where 6he is now loading London cargo, the Scales chartered 6teamer Skipton Castle, will come on to Wellington. Subsequently a visit will .be paid to Lyttelton, from which port the Skipton Castle will sail finally for London. A cablegram announces the arrival of the New Zealand Shipping Company's Opawa at London, from Australian ports. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company advise that their chartered steamer Mottisfont will leave Gisborno for Wellington to-morrow. Efforts vjll be mode to dispatch .the vessel for Home either on Monday or Tuesday next. According to the "London Shipping World," the large steamer which the Fairfield Company has on the stocks for the Union Company of New Zealand should be ready for launching early in the New Year, and also the new Orient liner which is building at Clydebank. AfteT completing discharge of her-cargo of Westport coal tho Kaiapoi will lay up here for overhaul and survey. As the Arahnra did not leave Westport for Nelson, Picton, and Wellington till 4 a.m. yesterday, she is not expected to arrive in port till about 6 a.m. ,to-day. The turret collier Koromiko will arrive at Wellington to put out a cargo of Newcastle coal to-day. Leaving Wellington at 3 p.m. to-day, for Dunedin, the Union Company's Corinna will land northern cargo at Oamaru on Saturday, and at ■ Timaru ■on Monday next. Her next ports of call will be Lyttelton and Wellington, the vessel being due herj on Wednesday, February 17. She will proceed thence to Kelson, New Plymouth, and Onehunga. At .the lastrmentioned port the Corinna, will take in 9000 boxes of butter and SCO orates of cheese for transhipment at Wellington to Home liners. On February'l7 the Woimana is due at Wellington from the Bluff to complete loading for Home. It is expected that 6he will clear here on Februajy 20. The F. and S. Line's chartered steamer El Cordobes will arrive at Wellington today, and will be dispatched for Avonmouth at daybreak on Sunday next. Tht Taviunt is due at Auckland to-day from the Cook and Society, Islands. The Union Company cargo-carrier Kanna is scheduled, to leave Groymouth to-day with timber for Melbourne and Sydney. From Westport the big collier Whangaps will go to Auckland, thence on to Newcastle, to load for a New Zealand port. Tho Wairuna is on her way from yewcastle to Lyttelton. She will return to the New South Wales coal port on completion of dischargo. Endeavours were made to refloat the small steamer Blenheim off *he Wadran Bar yesterday.
