DISSATISFIED BOXERS

INCREASED PERCENTAGES DEMANDED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyriehl Sydney, February 10. Dissatisfaction exists among .the members of the newly-formed Boxers' Union, who are claiming 30 per cent, of the gross takings for each combatant. Mr. Reg. Baker, manager of Stadiums, Ltd., threatens to close the arenas in the various centres.

The Wairarapa Atheltic Club has picked a provisional team of thirty athletes, from which a final selection will be made after trials io be held in a few days' time. The Wellington Amateur Athletic Club are holding an evening sports meeting on Wednesday next on the Basin Reserve. The programme, which starts at 6.30, consists of a 100 yds., 440 yds., and one mile handicap. This will probably be the last meeting prior to the teams competing at Masterton. From the form shown at, the- Masterton meeting will the selection of the Wellington team be made to represent this province at the iNew Zealand championships, which are to be held hero on March 13. .

SPORTS AT THE HTJTT. The-first sports gathering for the year in connection with the Hutt Amateur Athletic Club was held last eveniliE at the Hutt Recreation Ground. There was a fair attendance, including several ladies, despite the fact that a keen wind was blowing. Messrs. Davidson, Roche, and M'Kay acted as judges, Mr. W. Bond as handicapper, Mr. M. Hodgins as starter, and Mr. A. Jeuness as timekeeper. The results wore as follow: — 75yds. Club Handicap.—C. France, scr.,'l; F. Barnard, Iyd., 2. Time, 8 l-3sec. A very close finish. 120 yds.
