MAORI TO RESUME RUNNING
TROTJBLE ALMOST OVER. _On inquiry at the local office of tie Union Company yesterday it was ascertained that the trouble with the firemen on the ferry steamer Maori is almost over. Practically a full crew has been obtained for the vessel, and a number of men were sent south by tho Wahine last evening to join her. It is confidently anticipated l that the Maori will be able to leave Lyttelton for Wellington to-morrow night, and she will take up her usual running from this end at 11 p.m. on Saturday. If this proves to be the case, the Pateena will withdraw from the ferry service on arrival at Wellington from Lyttelton this morning. She will resume running in the Cook Strait service on Monday, sailing for Nelson direct at 9 p.m. Tho Mapourika, which has been relieving the Pateena, will revert to nor former running. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Chflstohurch, February 10. The position in regard to the Maori remains unchanged, the vessel being still about eight or nine short of her stokehold complement. As there seems to be little chance of obtaining the necessary men at Lyttelton, it is understood that efforts are being made to get them from Dunedin and Wellington. The company is hopeful of dispatching tho Maori for Wellington in her usual running on Friday.
