CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER

Auckland, February 10. As a. result of the coroner's finding, at the inquest, Harry Johnston was charged with manslaughter in the Police Court to-day, it being alleged that it was due'to his negligence that James Porter was killed at Henderson ; ou January 26. The accidont in which Porter received fatal injuries occurred during Iho erection of a railway signal post. Accused reserved his defence, and, pleading not guilty, was committed for trial. Bail was allowed as before.
