MINEHS AND RAILWAYMEN. By Tolesmph.—Press Association—Oonyrieht (Rec. February 8, 9.60 p.m.) London, February 8. Tho South Wales Miners' Federation will give three months' notice on April 1 to terminate their wages agreement in consonance with the National Executive's deoision to seek a iiew, wage standard for all British coalfields, increasing the 1879 standard by 50 per ceiit., aha also to secure a fixed minimum wage of 7s. per day for coal winners, abolition of the maximum- per centage. Mr. J. H. Thomas, Labour M.P. for Derby, addressing the railway men at Leicester, said that the negotiations .for increased wages were progressing satisfactorily, and anyone advising a strike at present would not only be guilty of a crime, but would do the greatest disservice to the workers.
