ORGAN RECITAL.
Mr. Bernard F. Page, City Organist, cave an organ Tecital to a small .audience'in. the Town Hall on Saturday night., The two most interesting items in°the programme were' the Prelude to Act 3, "Tristan and Isolde" (Wagner) and one of Cesar Francks compositions. The Wagnerian music in the Prelude is mournful, even woeful, in character, describing as it does the death throes of Tristan and the lonely grief of Isolde. The Cesar Franck poem played was one of that renowried set of organ pieces written hy the great composer in 1860-62, which hare marked lum as one of the greatest of composers who have devoted special attention to organ music. Another item worthy of special noto in a performance which contained nothing that was not notevorthy, was Guihnant's setting for the organ of| Handels' Concerto in D Minor. ..The next, recral will be aivoii on Sat- j nrda-y evening, February 13.
