London, February 5, 2.55 p.m. Petrograd reports: Battle on left Vistula, Borjimoff-Volia Schidlovska front continued with extraordinary violence, enemy advancing in compact masses, bringing up seven divisions, wi'A hundred batteries supporting. - Russian counter-attacks began on Wednesday night. Series bayonet charges compelled enemy act on defensive. Near Borjimoff Russians took two lines of German trenches. After obstinate struggle Russians occupied Yolia Schidlovska estate, which enemy had held two days. Battle continues furiously. Near Svidnik, ten miles south-west of the Dukla Pass, also in the Valley Laborcz River, and in the direction of Usdok, the Russians advanced, taking two thousand prisoners. Attempts enemy advance Wyszkow Pass in the vicinity of Taietarolf repelled, with heavy losses. In region Fourholka Beskid Passes, after stout resistance, 'Russians withdrew from three passes, occupying previously prepared position. London, February 6, 7.10 a.m. Petrograd reports: The Russians crossed the Bzura River and took part of the enemy's position near Dakowo, and dislodged the Germans from their bridge-head. The battle continues with unabated energy. Theßussians blew up a bridge over the Nida and repulsed attacks on Rembowa and Kocar. In the Carpathians, nortb-west of the Cjok Pass, three thousand prisoners were'taken.
