SCOTTISH SOCIETY
At the annual meeting of the Scottish Society, the Chief (Mr. Foster) presided over an attendance of about 50 members. . The balance sheet showed the society to be on a good financial footing. The chairman stated that the past year hadbeen a successful one, and urged the' members to support the committee to make the coming year still-more successful. . . Reference was made to the visits of Mr. and Mrs. Lauder and Mr. and Mrs.. Graham MofFatt an 3 family, who were entertained by the committee, and in return for the hospitality shown them had presented- tho society with two valuable trophies for competition in piping and dancing. The election of officers resulted Chief, Mr. C. Foster (re-elected); •chieftain, Mr. Clark -. secretary, Mr. H. George; treasurer, Mr. W. Ballantyne 1 (re-elected): committee,. Mpssrs. M'L'ean, M'Lellan, Stewart, Miller, Hull, Collins, and Stark; auditors, Messrs. Barron and Lithcow; ladies' committee, Mesdames M'Lellan, Furlonser, and Mulcahy, Misses Harper, Williamson, and M'Leod.
