A CHILD'S DEATH. An inquest was held by Mr. D. (J, A., Cooper, S.M., yesterday into the death of a ten-year-old child, Nella Picclii, daughter of Duilio Picchi, who died suddenly on January 27. The evidence was that the little girl had beeu put to bed on the evening of January 27, and at about 11 p.m. came running into hor mother saying, Mummy, mummy," and then died. The i° Hamilton Gilmer was that the child suffered from a distended ' la d a weak heart, and was sulferuig_ from the initial stages of pneumonia. The combination of these ailments was the cause of death. A\ verdict was returned accordingly bv the Coroner.

' Jane Owen Trilford, a married woman, while milking at Okaiawa on' Thursday evening, was seized with a : coughing fit and expired shortly afterwards.
