Rennie which would demonstrate the, difficulties that beset the New Zealand; motor cyclist in quite a striking: manner., With Mr. G. B. Brown, Mr. Ronnie toolcj a B.S.A. 4}h.p. single-cylinder motorcycle three-speed countershaft gear (of course) and sidc-car from Christchurcli through Arthur's Pass to Otira, Ktnnara, Murchison, Nelson, Blenheim, Glenhope, l ( Seddon, Kaikoura, Waiau, and Hanmeiy 800 miles, all overland. The trip was a tough one, but the B.S.A. • and side-car (weighing SOOlb. with passengers), cams through magnificently. The capabilities of the 3-speed gear wero fully demon, strated, and so pleased were" Messrs Adams, Ltd., with the result of thii gruelling "try-out" that thev cabled trebling their standing orders fop B.S.A. motor-cycles.
