A garden fete was held to-day in the Recreation Grounds, organised by the Ladies' Committee, under the.Mayoress of New Plymouth and the local branch of the Victoria League, in aid of the Poor in Britain and Belgium Relief Fund. Despite untoward weather in the morning and early afternoon, which interfered with some of the spectacular events, the takings wero about £250.
