SUNDAY RIFLE PRACTICE APPROVED
RESERVE CLUBS IN AUSTRALIAN : Sydney, February 4. ! A deputation representing the Na*' tional Rifle Reserve has asked for tha removal of the legal objection to rifle shooting on Sunday. The Hon. J. H. Cann (Colonial Treasurer), in announcing that arrangementshad been made to allow practising for military purposes, said: "Our enemies do not call a truce on Sundays, and there can be no serious objections to making preparation on that day to receive him." The National Rifle Reserve movement! is growing apace. .Clubs are forming; everywhere, Ministers and other leaders taking an active part, giving patriotic addresses and by other methods pro«moting the Reserve. The Cricket Association has appealed? to all clubs to participate in the defence preparations to form rifle clubs in van-. ous districts. The Tasmanian tour has been abandoned.
