Jrom Oar ftoecial Oorreeiiondent.l The first anniversary of the Lower Hutt Salvation Army- Corps ivas celebrated last evening with a tea meeting and entertainment. At tho tea meeting upwards of 70 persons" assembled, anu at the entertainment the barracks were well", filled. Brigadier Carmichaol presided, and there were also present the Revs. J. M'Caw and W. Beckett, apologies being sent by the .Revs. Dean .Lane, Gibson, and Mr. H. Grinstead. Addresses were delivered by Brigadier Carmichael (who also read the annual re-, port) and Captain Miriam Glover. StaffCaptain Wallace gave a Bible-reading, and the Petone Songsters iinder Ensign, Seamen rendered musical items. The Petone S.A. Band also contributed to the programme. • At the monthly meeting of the Petone branch of the W.C.T.U., Miss Kirk presiding, Mrs. Corner was appointed delegate to the annual convention, and one member was received by transfer. Bro. Rose, C.T., presided at last evening's meeting of the Hope of Petone Lodge, 1.0. G.T., when the following officers were elected: —Bro. Rose, C.T.; Sister Rose, P.T.; Sister Andrew, Chaplain; Bro. Mont, Secretary; Bro. Brian, F.S.; Bro. Montgomery, Treasurer; Bro. Wood, Marshal; Sister Brian, Guard; Bro.
