A COURT SCENE
"STOP!,' YOUR WORSHIP 1" There was a dramatic and totally "unlocked for little scene at the close of a civil case at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. The case in question had just concluded, and the Magistrate was leaving the Bench, when counsel for defendant (a well-known and prominent citizen) cried out to tho Magistrate to stop a moment. Tho Magistrate turned round surprised. "Your A\orship, sang out counsel, excitedly, ''just to show you what type of people the plaintiffs are. This man —an old man he is—just now called me a scoundrel, and lifted his hand to strike me—yes, lifted his hand to me." >■ "Well, I can't deal with that now, replied the Magistrate, and then, turning to the old man, "Vou had better bo quiet, or I'll call the orderly. The gentleman 'addressed came out of his retirement at tho rear of the Court, and rapidly approached tho Magistrate. "I don't want to speak to you, go away I" said the Magistrate, and turned tis back and left the Court. Counsel likewise turned to hurriedly leave tho Court at another exit, tho old man following close on his heels. Thou counsel turned round, and facing his pursuer, dared him. The person addressed, however, only cried out excitedly, "I've got something here that il fix you! Yes, it'll fix you all right!" and ho slapped his pocket significantly. "Ha! Ha 1" roared counsel. "Ha! Ha!" echoed the old man derisively, and both left the Court.
