TAKAPUNA MEETING BEDFORD SCORES IN THE CUP. ißy Telegraph—Pre«« Association.l Auckland, January 30. Tho Summer Meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club was continued to-day in beautiful weather, when the remaining five events that were postponed on tho previous day owing to ram were decided. There was a large attendance, and the sum of £23,678' was put through the totalisator for the five races. This made the total for tho eight races £32,354 10s., against £25,745 for the first day of the summer meeting last year. An inquiry was held concerning alleged interference with La Reina .by Royal Irish in the Cup. After hearing evidence it was found that the probable cause of interference was due to Royal Irish coming in rather quickly on Monorail, but taking into consideration the good record of M'Flinn, the rider of Royal Irish, it was considered that a severe caution would meet the case.
