London, January 29. ■ At Bloemfontein the trial of Brand and Wessels revealed that Wessels, with a deputation to General Botha, demanded his,resignation. - General Botha declared that ho would not resign, and was determined to suppress the rebellion. Subsequently Wessels induced 500 men at Bethlehem to rebel.
