SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain probable generally, and a cool change following ahortfv. Winds yariable, strong cast to south-easterlies in and northward of (look Strait, and northerlies, changing 'uy west to south, elsewhere. Barometer unsteady, but probably rising everywhere by to-morrow evening. The barometer hae fallen especially in tbu nortn. tor , a disturbance centred off the Bay of Plenty, and rain has fallen northward of K&whia' and Castlepoint. Warm, chill, and misty weather has prevailed elsewhere. Strong easterly winds have ruled over the North Island, and northerly and westerly breezes have predominated In the south. D. 0. BATES.
