j [Br Gut if cot.] Nominations for the Woodville District Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting close on Monday next. Several ■ horses have been left in the Champagne Stakes at Dunedin in error. Mr. Harvey Patterson, who has leased Fabrikoff; and turned out the rest of his team during his absence in Australia, has six horses engaged, while Mr. Martofl/s chestnut filly Tango, by Vasco from Stopka, dam of Pavlova, who is now running out at-Porima, has also been left in by an oversight. Prior to the departure of the Ulimaroa yesterday several friends of G. Price met, and presented him with a travelling-rug. i'he recipient's health was drunk, and the wish expressed that he would have a successful trip. J. W. Lowe i 3 now breaking-in the Charlemagne ll—Cnte gelding, purchased by the Messrs. Riddiford at the last. Wellington sale of the Waikanae yearlings. The youngster, who was on ttie small side as a yearling, has grown considerably since being gelded. Since the Trentham meeting Kilrain has been spelling in the paddock. Later on he will again be taken up and got ready for the Wanganui Cup. Mr. F. H. Pyne, of Christchurch, is shortly leaving oil a trip to England, and while there he will endeavour to purchase several thoroughbreds for different owners in the' Dominion.. Football, who was left in J. W. Lowe's chargo after the Trentham meeting, was shipped to Sydney yesterday. His owner,-Mr. E. J. AVatt, was on the same boat as the All Black gelding. Sutala is still in a bad way. at Trentham, and may yet have to bo destroy- ■ ed. His off hind tendon was cut clean through, and considerable difficulty is being experienced in getting it together again. Tho hurdlo horse Kilmeny is still running out at Iliccarton, and has not got over ' tho _ soreness which affected him after racing at Ellcrslio. Later on ho will be taken up again, and if ho conies to hand quickly his owner is thinking of sending him to Australia to race. Jockeys L. ,Hegarty and H. Cairns were aboard the Ulimaroa which sailed for Sydney last evening. They are bound for Melbourne, whero they will resume riding. ( Tho decision of tho Takapuna Club to postpone its meeting until to-day and Wednesday nest was probably a measure for safety, but it will bo very inconvenient for somo owners as several of the jockeys are committed to engagements at Hawera and Gisborne next week, and will require to miss Wednesday's racing. AnsTin, and Football were tho defections from the Egmont Cup. This leaves ton acceptors, and tho list is headed by Sea Pink, Bst. 131b. Tho Seaton Delaval horse will take bis place in the field, and will be ridden by It. Berry. Jolio Fille, wbo scored in the Zealarnlia Handicß# at 'i'akapuna yesterday, must have come on a lot since racing at Bllerslie, for on tho concluding day of" the Cup meeting thero she finished at tho tail of tho field in a mile race. In addition to purchasing horses in England for bis patron Mr. llighden, trainer 5. Price will also act in a similar capacity for a well-known Potone sportsman. Vocation, tho half-brother to Reputation, has been purchased by an Invorcargill sportsman. Tho brown horse should be very -useful amongst the company. he will meet in Southland.
