DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS.

The carnival in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Wellington is to be held at Newtown Park to-morrow afternoon commencing at 1 p.m. The programme arranged is a particularly bright and varied one, embracing as it does, a big gold-mining exhibition by the West Coasters' Association, a costume cricket match, Maori v. pakeha, athletic sports, children's dancing competitions, baby shows, greasy pig hunt, and a host of Amusing and novel sideshows. Part of the proceeds are to go to the Mayor's war distress fund.
