RETURNED TROOPERS IN TROUBLE
« Some of the Main Expeditionary Force who returned from Egypt to Wellington by the Orari on Monday have caused the Defenco officers here quite a lot of annoyance since their return. Two of the party are alleged to have been sent back for misconduct, and three for having refused to be inoculated. The alleged misconduct consisted of overstaying leave. None of the men enlisted in "Wellington. On Monday morning the men reported at tho Defence Office, and were told to report again later. On Wednesday three of (hem are said to have gone to the Defence; Office, called the officers by insulting names, and generally created disturbance. The officers threat, ened to get the police to arrest them, and tho men declared that all tho police in Wellington would not apprehend them. Finally an attempt was made to arrest the men, and a struggle enused. The trio was bested, handcuffed, and taken under arrest to Trenbham by a picket from the military camp.
