Reports from North Auckland concerning the suitability of'the land for fruit-fanning have attracted the atten-;-non of farmers in the South, and during jtho last few years soveral sales of land •in the Borth for fruit-farming have taken place. Now an area of 14 000 acres, north of Helensville, abutting on the Karoara Harbour, and forming part of the Hargreaves Estate, is being brought under cultivation for this purpose.
