RELIEF COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Poor of Great Britain, Ireland, and Belgium Relief Fund was hold yesterday morning. Mr. C. P. Skcrrett, K.C., occupied the chair. Reports were received from the secretaries with regard to the position of the funds, and the amount, which had already heen transmitted to London. It was decided to mako a further remittance of £3500, in association with contributions from other branches, at the earliest possible date. A number of suggestions were made to the committee for the purpose of raising funds, amongst which ail offer was received from Mr. Owen Carston, of Wanganui, to conduct a' Carnival Queen demonstration, which was referred to the Patriotic Sports Committee to be dealt with. Sub-committees were set up to arrango for the shipment of clothing, and of frozen meat and produce. .' was decided that efforts he continued to raise additional funds, aiid the committee will be pleased to receive and transmit further donations.
