The 'New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.', Ltd., report having held their monthly sale at Pongaroa on Thursday, when they offered a large yarding of sheep and a small one of cattle. Competition was not very animated, though, with the exception of one ' pen, we mn/io a total clearance under the hammer at satisfactory prices. Forward two-tooth wethers made 17e. W.i medium four-tooth wethers, 165.-6 d.; four-tooth maiden ewes, 15s. 9d.; six-tooth and four-year-old'ewes, 15s. Id.; four-year-old ewes in backward, condition, 9s 6d.; 9s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.,. Masterton report, bavins held their weekly sale at Taratahi on Monday. The demand for all classes of stock was not quite so good as last week. However, tlio following prices were realised;— Sheen: Forward conditioned two-tooths, 14s. Id.; do. ewes, 13s. 3d . store ewes, 12s. 6d.; rape lambs, 9s. 6d. to 10s.' Cattle: Forward cows, £4 65. ; storo cows, £3 12a: good weaner steers, £2 25.; ciehteen-month heifers, £2 Cs. 6d.; vcaletj. 345. 6d.; bulls, £2 10s.
