SERIOUS GRASS FIRE
.DAMAGE IN'THE WAIBARAPA. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) Masterton, January 25. A serious grass fire broke out on Te Parae Station this afternoon, and fanned by a heavy gale spread with alarming rapidity. Large gangs of men are out endeavouring to check the progress of the flames and rescue stock. At a late hour to-night the fire was still spreading. It is feared, considerable damage will be done.
