Other sections of the trade' took exception to this at the sale today, which was postponed for half an hour owing to their refusal, to bid. When the sale was resumed, the Germans persisted in bidding, and declared that they, had obtained proper authorisation from the Customs and military, authorities, but the bids were.ignored. Excitement in the rooms was high at the time, and finally the Germans accepted a plain hint, and desisted.
