MELANESIAN "TUCK BOXES."
Sir, —Will you give me your yearly boon of a little space in which to reniuid your kindly aud liberal readers ot the scheme, which supplies the Melanefiian "tuck boxes"? They need no plea from me; Wellington knows of them* well, and I may add that those who receive them know of Wellington also. I cannot for a momont think that tho_"riiany calls" which claim our support just now will rob me. Standing organisations need our help exactly as they always have; many of these missionaries have relatives at the front, many have helped to their utmost in Furnishing the sinews of war, and they aro often months without any home news. Having holped to provide for others, they provide for thomselvcs loss well, then surely it's "up to us" who stay at home to see that they do not lack tho things they begin to count upon, because so far Wellington has, nover failed tliein. I should be glad if I may receive cither donations or assurances of them as soon as is convenient to thoso who mako them; Miss Slestayer, of Sydnoy Street,- will bo glad to receive and forward any such. —1. am, etc., LUCY CALDER, Wife of Commissary to tho Bishop of Melanesia, All Saints, Auckland. January 21, 1915.
