DISTRESS RELIEF FUND POOR OF GREAT BRITAIN 'AND IRELAND AND BELGIUM. The objects of this fund are to provide by voluntary contributions from the people of New Zealand, food, clothing, unci general assistance for those in distress in Great Britain, Ireland, and Belgium as a result of the ivar. Mr. Lan Duncan (of Messrs. Lovin and Co., Ltd.), is hon. treasurer of the fund; Mr. William Pryor (National Mutual Buildings) is hon. secretary to tho Wellington branch; Mr. R. W. Williams, of Napier, and Mr. J. H. Preston, Otago, in connection with the War Emergency and Relief Fund. Other donations received include: —Geo. Wells, £25: Hyman Marks Trustees. £25; Mrs: ana Miss Elworthy, £20; 6. Barron (Napier), £14 10s.; Canterbury-Club, £10; Marton (Salvation Army) Corps, £25 ss. Last week the national secretary of tho Y.M.C.A. issued an appeal for £500 for Y.M.C.A. fiold service equipment in the camps of the Expeditionary Force at Trentham and in Egypt.
