BETWEEN FLOOD CREEKS

AN UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Timaru, January 24. 'A party of visitors to Mount Ooolt, numbering about a dozen, had an unpleasant experience on their, return journey. They left the Hermitage on Friday morning', and after about ten miles their car was stuck up by an impassable creek, while one which had already been crossed had become impassable. They had therefore to remain between the two creeks till today.

Fortunately a small tin hut was available. A wagon with, five horses was sent from the Hermitago with food and blankots, and managed to reach them.

The party, which included Sir John Findlay, Mr. Justice Hosking, and some ladies, reached Timaru this evening about 7 o'clock.

Sir John Findlay stated afterwards that the party might have returned to the Hermitage in the wagon, hut it was raining so heavily that they determined to stay where they were. The Indies (eight of them) occupied tho hut, and the men slept in tho cars. No one was any the worse for the experience.
