OPERATIONS INVENTED FRENCH LOSSES EXAGGERATED (Rec. January 24, 6.40 p.m.) London, January 23. General Joffre is directing attention to the lying obarncter of the German bulletins, which' either entirely invent operations or distort those which, actually happen. The recent statements relating to French losses were totally untrue, for they are fewer than half the German figures. During the fightinjT in the past two months the ucrman losses were greater than those of tho French—("T ; mes' and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
