WAIHI REEHS-GIGAiTTM. Tho mine manager of the Wathl ReefsGigaiitic reports as follows for the past Vi'teK:—Good progress is being made with both crosscuts at tho 1000-feet level. The north face has been extended 24 feet and the south-east face 22 feet, making total driven for the week 46 teet, and both faces nre penetrating oxcetlent mineralised country, showing occasional bands of strong mineral and blotches of quartz formation. The distance driven north from shaft now measures 134 feet and "southeast 55 teet; and 1 do not think that mora 1 favourable country exists anywhere on tho field than that which we are penetrating. Tho coal supply is now coming in regularly, and all machinery is working well. The erection of the new winding engine is well forward. This work is being carried on in a. way tiitit will . not interrupt tne underground work.
