EXCITING INCIDENTS AT YARMOUTH
V NARROW ESCAPES RAILWAY MI CHASED BY A ' ZEPPELIN SHARP FIGHTING IN FRANCE ENEMY HARD HIT The Zeppelin raid on the east coast of England is still the sensa/tion of the moment, and to-day's new® is full of esoiting incidents and hairbreadth escapes, with here and there a pitiful tragedy to testify to the wanton brutality of the raiders. There is, of courssi, great rejoicing in Germany, and much frantic boasting. In the Western theatre there has been 6harp fighting all along the Allien' line. A German attempt to blow up a bridge at the mouth of the Yser was frustrated, and one of the enemy's pontoonß, near St. Georges (east of Nieuport),'was successfully attacked. The Germans are endeavonr--ing to widen ihe wedge they have driven in the French line at Soiasonsj presumably with the intention of rushing a/large force through, if that can he accomplished with safety to the flanks. 'The Germans have been hit hard in the Eastern theatre, particularly in Galicia. Reports from refugees from the. Asia Minor territory state that the Army which is said to be contemplating an invasion of Egypt is massing in large numb.ers about 150 miles from the Suez Canal. A new Austrian army is being organised for the purpose of crushing the Serbs, and considerable uneasiness,'is felt at the magnitude of the'preparations.
