ROWING
« NO REGATTA THIS YEAR. The Wellington Rowing Association held a meeting on Tuesday night to consider whether the annual regatta should bo held this year. After some discussion it was decided that instead of a regatta an afternoon of inter-club racing be hold on March 13. A programme was drawn up as. follows:— Senior sculls, senior fours, maiden fours, rdaiden double sculls, and youths' fours. It was further decided not to award any prizes for the races, all the admission money to go to the Patriotic Fund. Entries are to be reccivod from all Wellington Rowing Clubs, while winners of races arc to receive suitably-inscribed certificates. The races are to be rowed on the southerly course, and should the weather be unsuitable on March 13, they will be held on the first suitable date. On the same occasion a permanent competition is to be initiated among Wellington clubs, and every year a certificate is to be 1 presented to the club gaining most points at regattas of a Bimilar nature.
