KENNERLEY RUMFORD VOLUNTEERS
It is something of a lead to the waverers among our young men (states a writer in tho "Daily Chronicle") that one so gifted and popular as Mr. Kennerloy Rumford should have given up his engagements in several parts of the world to train himself for duties at the front.
The famous aTtist has been 6inging Sir Fredoric Cowen's and Mr. Harold BegWs song, "Fall In," to the voung men of Sheffield, Brighton, Hudders- , field, Sunderland, Eastbourne, St. Leonards, Guildford, Blackheath, Blackpool, and Manchester, and now he has decided to practice what ho has been singing, and "fall in" himself! A man in the prime of life end strength, who can still earn largo fees, m spito of the effect of war upon the concert world, with a distinguished wife (Mine. Clara Butt), beautiful children, and a beautiful home, Mr. Kcnnerley Rumford makes no ordinary sacrifice to his King and country. The examplo he is setting should help enormously to convert the many young men lVlio liave no pressing reason to hold them back from joining the colours.
