BANKING COMPANY AND THE WAR
SUPPORT IN MEN AND FUNDS. Sydney, Jaiiuary 20. At the half-yearly meeting of the Commercial Banking Company, the chairman stated that the bank had taken up.a quarter of a million of British war loan stock, and had advanced £900,000. to tho State Government. It .had subscribed liberally to the war funds, and fifty-two.of its officers were in the Expeditionary Force, and from thirty to fifty generaly absent on ; home defence. A 10 per cent, dividend was declared.
