BASKETBALL
An important meeting was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Monday wght, at which many reforms were determined upon;, the object in view being to. fos-ter-the game and to improve both the standard of play_ and the standard of those officiating in the. capacity of referees. A new league is in the process of formation, the competing teams to be: Gymnasium, Old Boys' Club, Foothall Club, Residents A and Residents B. Mf. D. C. Sclater has been appointed official referee. , The matches for this week .are: —8 p.m., Residents B v. Strangers; 8.45 ,p.m., Residents A v. Gymnasium. The matches in connection with the new league will commence on Thursday, January. 25.
