>8 MEN AT TEE FRONT, it (By Telegraph.—Presu Association.) Tlmaru, January 19.' A meeting of the South Canterbury Patriotio Committee held to-dnjj discussed (on a case reported from Christcburoh of the needy family of a man who joined a South Canterbury Company for the front) the general principles on which 6 relief shall be afforded from the local 1V fund. 9 It was unanimously resolved to aßsist ■® the dependents of men actually enrolled d tn the South Canterbury military distriot independent of domicile, and that relief to dependents not domiciled in * South Canterbury be given through and 1 with the co-operation of the local com- ■" mittee if one exists. The recommendar tion of the Christohuroh Committee on | s the case in point was 12s. 6d. a week, 0 whioh was adopted as from December 9, when tho Chrißtchurch Committee began '> contributing.
