Dannsvlrke, January, 19. : Reports from the coastal districts indicate extensive damage , was done there on Monday by fires which were fanned into activity by a howlipg gale. In addition to the loss already announced the following settlers are, Te- ' ported to have had their residences and ' outbuildings destroyed:— Franklin 1 Bros, and Mr. Murray, Pongaroa; Gar- " diner and Yeoman, Waimiro ; two houses and mill; Mr. Willcox, Wauniro, store, house and smithy; Messrs': A. Dr. Wilkin, Pongaroa, was motoring to attend an injured boy named Coe, son of a Rakaunui storekeeper, when a burning limb fell on the , doctor's head.
