GERMAN BRUTALITIES AND OUTRAGES
COMPLAINT FROM RUSSIA Potrograd, January 18. The Russian Government has' requested the Spanish Embassy , to complain to tie German and Austrian Governments of the soldiers' atrooities on ambulance men, who are methodically dispatched or mutilated. Wounded Russians and several Cossacks have been hanged as the result of the Gem an commander's general order. The Germans shot civilians at Kalisz without reason. Prussians murdered a priest at Koviki. Austriaris at Makovo and Chatava violated women and girls, and ill-treated the population,_ particularly priests, for refusing to give information regarding the Russian army. The Germans also misused the white flag. ' FRENCH REPORT OF GERMAN ATROCITIES, "CLIMAX OF LIE CAMPAIGN,". SAYS GERMANY. London, January 18. A Berlin official statement describes the French report of German atrooities as the climax of the lie'campaign. "The German army." tho statement sots out, "will not be affected by this sort of filth.
