A CALL TO PRAYER.
■ OHTjROH eells to ring daily. At a. meeting representative of the various- City churches which was held yesterday in tho Presbyterian Church offices, and presided over by the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. T. H. Sprott), it was unanimously decided to recommend that the following notice be posted at churches: —: "Church bells will ring daily at 12 noon. ? 'People of New Zealand pray: "For victory in the cause of freedom. "For the Forces of the King and all the Allies on land and sea and in the air. "For the tick and wounded and dying. "For the prisoners and captives. "For the bereaved and destitute. "For the restoration of peace among the nations. "For tho establishment of God's Righteous Kingdom in the world. "When you hear tho bell, say a Bhort prayer, wherever you are, whatever you aro doing." _ The practice of ringing 'the church bells daily as a call to prayer has already been inaugurated. The bells of many of the churches wore rung at noon yesterday, and at St. James's Church the call has been sounded daily for a week past.
