Further particulars regarding the capture of Bougainville Island (at the nortb-west end of the Solomon Group, and about 500 miles east of New Guinea) show that it was carried out without fighting, by troops from Rabaul. Herr Dollinger, tho chief German official, hearing of the fall of Rabaul, .disarmed the native police. On November 19 the Admiralty Group (about 200 miles north of German New Guinea) was also occupied.
